Mayor meets a batch of students from Northeast
North Delhi Mayor Mr. Ravinder Gupta today met with a batch of students from the Northeast at his office in Civic Centre. The students from Guwahati were led by Mr. Ashish Bhavey, Mr. Manoj Nigra and Mr. Manoj Tyagi of Northeast wing of Akhil Bharatiya Viadyarthi Parishad. This wing each year organizes ‘Inter-State Chhatra Jivan Darshan Yatra’.
In an interaction with the students, Mayor Mr. Gupta said that future belongs to the youth and it is essential that they know their country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
He also said that the youth must visit Delhi at least once in their lifetime so that they can get acquainted with this historic City. The Mayor told the students about the functioning of the Corporation and wished for their bright future.
Mr. Manish Sisodia has no legal right to issue order for setting up Inquiry committee
They informed the LG that Mr. Manish Sisodia has no legal right to issue such orders. The three Mayors also said that the LG that this decision of the Deputy CM is nothing but a political stunt and another way of politicizing the issues. They said that accounts of municipal Corporations are already audited by the CAG.
Mayor of North Delhi Mr. Ravinder Gupta has also written a letter to the Chief Minister to implement the 7th January, 2016 orders of the Hon’ble Court which directed the Delhi Government to release the due funds to the Corporations. They said that it is contempt of court by the Delhi Government and the Chief Minister. The Mayor has also sent a detailed demand letter to the Chief Minister regarding this issue.
The Mayors also informed the LG about the current poor financial condition of the Corporations which are trying hard to pay salaries to its staff, disbursing pension and carrying on development works. They requested the LG to persuade the Delhi Government to pay funds as the 3rd Delhi Finance Commission (DFC) and implement the report of the 4th DFC.
