MAYOR WENT OUT IN THE FIELD TO REMOVE WATER LOGGING HIMSELF

DELHI GOVT RESPONSIBLE FOR WATER LOGGING IN THE CITY
Mayor of North Delhi, Mr Ravinder Gupta went around in the areas of North Delhi Municipal Corporation to take stock of the situation during rains. He informed that municipal staff was in the field from wherever complaints have come for outfall of the stagnant water.

Mr Gupta alleged that most of the areas where there was waterlogging was due to laxity of PWD as they didnot care for timely desilting of drains which serve as outfall to municipal drains. He said i had written a letter to CM that departments under his control are not serious about arrangements for monsoon but he also not paid heed to the issue resulting in waterlogging at number of places that put life of Delhiites out of gear.

The Mayor said that we are taking it as challenge if it rains as forecasted and would be in the field alongwith senior officers for prompt action but urged the CM of Delhi to leave other issues for the time being and direct its departments to work in coordination with Corporation to prevent waterlogging during the coming days.
