Municipal Corporation at Doorsteps of Citizens’ (Nigam Prashasan Janta Ke Dwar)

North Delhi, Mayor, Mr. Ravinder Gupta today inaugurated the first interactive programme ‘Municipal Corporation at Doorsteps of Citizens’ (Nigam Prashasan Janta Ke Dwar) an interactive programme with citizens to solve their grievances there and then at Chandni Chowk, Ghanta Ghar. He was accompanied by Leader of House, Mr Yogendra Chandolia; former Deputy Mayor, Ms Poornima Vidyarthi;Area Councillor Ms Surekha Gupta; Deputy Commissioner of City Zone Mr Nadunchezian and other senior officials were also present.

On the occasion, Mayor of North Delhi, Mr. Ravinder Gupta informed that under the first interactive programme on “NIGAM PRASASAN JANTA KE DWAR” around 150 grievances were registered, out of which 100 grievances pertaining to water supply or sewage disposal with which North DMC has to do with. Mayor said that problems have been forwarded to various departments of Corporation and Delhi Govt. Mayor directed officials to redress the problems as soon as possible.


Mayor said this programme would be conducted in all the 104 Municipal Wards in the jurisdiction of North Delhi. At least one meeting in a ward in a month would be scheduled. Through this programme we can directly interact with the citizens to solve their local issues pertaining to the corporation promptly and try to make administration more transparent and accountable.

He informed that for implementation of the programme 6 Zonal Committees have been constituted. The members of committees include senior elected representatives and officers, who will directly interact with the citizens at the doorstep to solve their issues.
Leader of House, Mr Yogendra Chandolia said that this is the best programme for coordinating between the citizens and elected representatives besides an opportunity for citizens to directly interact with officers of the corporation and to know the status about various development schemes of their area.
